Octopus Saving Sessions (Power Up and Power Down)

Power Up sessions reward you for using more electricity when there is surplus green power (these replaced Octopus Free Electricity sessions in 2026). Power Down sessions reward you for using less at busy times. Rewards are paid in Octopoints. Both types run through NESO's Demand Flexibility Service.

Eligibility

• Octopus Energy customer and Octoplus member
• Working electricity smart meter sending half-hourly readings (Octopus needs 80% of your readings for the last 20 days)
• Weekend Happy Hours offer also needs Direct Debit or prepay

How to join

• Join Octoplus, then sign up to Saving Sessions from the banner in your online account or app
• Opt in to each session from the email or your Octoplus dashboard, otherwise you earn nothing
• Power Up notice: Octopus gets the go-ahead around 10am and sessions can run between 11am and 4pm

Good to know

• Until 1 November 2026, succeeding in two Power Down sessions unlocks one free Weekend Happy Hour (capped at 16 kWh).
